Christian School Made Different

Classical Light, Literature Rich, Globally Focused

You may be wondering, “What do these words actually mean?” We’re glad you asked.

Classical Light

The classical education model is a traditional, holistic approach that is focused on growing children in wisdom, virtue, and eloquence by teaching students HOW to think. We call our approach light because we are not heavily Latin and Greek focused in our elementary years. Our younger learners are in the Grammar Stage, and we use their natural ability to memorize songs, facts, and chants to help them input core knowledge they’ll use their whole lives. As students enter middle school, they transition to the Logic Stage, and education models their natural inclination to question the world around them as we build on the knowledge of the Grammar Stage and teach them to question logically using sound reasoning. Moving into high school, students enter the Rhetoric Stage where they turn their well-built, logically-developed arguments into well-expressed findings.

Literature Rich

The best way for students to acquire information and learn to be excellent communicators is for them to be well-read. A traditional “Great Books” education focuses heavily on the Western canon, but our school prefers a broader scope of inspirational literature to help students understand God’s world. As such, we use the term “Literature Rich” instead of “Great Books” to reflect our love of reading quality books without the ties to the traditional list, although we read some of those, too!

Globally Focused

We intentionally cultivate a community that welcomes and values students from various backgrounds, cultures, and Christian traditions—while holding fast to the core truths of the Gospel. “There is one body and one Spirit... one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all.” —Ephesians 4:4–6

In a world often marked by division, we model a better way: rooted in shared kingdom identity, we celebrate the richness of our differences while standing firm in the unity we have in Christ. Our diversity is not a distraction—it is a strength that reflects the fullness of God’s family.

You’ll even see that reflected in our logo. At the center of our crest is the Funtumfunefu Denkyemfunefu, a Ghanaian symbol of two crocodiles joined at the core. Though distinct, they must cooperate to survive. In the same way, we embrace our diversity in background, giftings, and callings, recognizing that we are bound together in Christ with a shared purpose and eternal hope.

A Welcome From Our Founders

Dear Families,

We are honored to welcome you and invite you to be part of something new, prayerfully built, and intentionally different: the launch of Coram Deo Christian School.

Coram Deo means “before the face of God.” This phrase captures not only our name, but our heartbeat. We believe education is not something we do apart from faith, it is something we live out daily, fully and faithfully, in the presence of God.

At Coram Deo, Christian education is not a compromise. It is a calling.

Our mission is simple and profound: to be Committed to Christ, Devoted to Education, Called to Excellence, and Sanctified to Serve. We exist to partner with families in raising students who are academically prepared, spiritually grounded, and equipped to engage the world with wisdom, integrity, and courage.

This school launch has been designed with great care and prayer to be unlike anything else in our area. We are building a community where:

  • Academic rigor and spiritual formation work hand in hand
  • Faith is not an add-on, but the lens through which all learning is viewed
  • Character matters as much as achievement
  • Excellence is pursued as an act of worship
  • Students are known, challenged, and deeply valued

Our vision is to graduate students who love learning and love the Lord: curious thinkers who seek truth, serve others, and follow Jesus first in all things. We believe students shaped in this way will not only thrive, but will carry the light of Christ into every place God leads them.

At the heart of our community is a commitment to unity in Christ, even amid diversity. Like the symbol at the center of our crest we recognize that while our families may come from different backgrounds, traditions, and experiences, we are bound together by a shared faith, purpose, and eternal hope.

As we launch Coram Deo Christian School, we are not simply opening classrooms, we are forming a Christ-centered community, grounded in our core values of truth, connection, discipleship, integrity, excellence, ingenuity, service, and unity.

If you are seeking a school where education is more than preparation for life- where it is life, lived before the face of God- we would be honored to walk this journey with your family.

We have been praying for you and your family since our vision for this school began, and we can’t wait to meet you.

With gratitude and hope,

Christi White and Kristina Kotlus
