Kindergarten

Entry-level education for students who are 5 by September 30.

Start strong.

Beginning a student’s education at Coram Deo in kindergarten lays a foundation that shapes not only how they learn, but how they see the world. These early years are when curiosity, habits, character, and identity take root. They are where wonder is nurtured, confidence is formed, and trust is built. Beginning at Coram Deo means your child’s very first school experiences are shaped by truth, grace, and the steady reminder that they are created, known, and deeply loved by God.

By starting in kindergarten, children are formed in a Christ-centered environment where faith and learning are never separated—establishing academic confidence, spiritual grounding, and a love for learning that carries them forward for years to come.

Our students benefit from the use of curriculum we believe parents would choose for themselves if they were able to hand-pick. Results-oriented, literature rich, and Christ-centered in our approach, we are looking to create students who are rock-solid in fundamentals in lower grades so that at upper levels of education we can engage in thought, analysis, and application. We utilize curriculum like IEW, Sonlight, and Singapore Math to ensure students have access to the best possible materials in every subject area.

While our youngest students benefit from Summit Ministries curriculum, they also have the blessing of witnessing older students lead Chapel. Coram Deo students worship together, engage in service together, and learn together. A Biblical worldview is evidenced throughout each of our subjects and reflected through carefully crafted statements of faith for each curriculum area.

Traditional academics take place in kindergarten on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. On Wednesdays, we have a specially crafted day of technology, co-curriculars like partner projects, building challenges, and volunteer opportunities to showcase students’ abilities outside the traditional curriculum and expand their capacity to learn. There is no homework assigned on Wednesdays so that students can attend church activities with their families.

Outside the Box Learning

In addition to our Wednesday enrichment, students benefit from project-based learning assignments, field trips to encourage hands-on learning, and the opportunity for larger trips and summer activities appropriate for each grade level. While these offerings vary by year to align with the curriculum, they may include:

  • Field Trips
  • Visiting Authors
  • Family Events
  • Mobile Library
  • Grandparents’ Day
